All lessons must be pre-paid through our office or website at least 24 hours in advance. We accept payment by Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Google Checkout & personal check. If you prefer to pay by check, then you must purchase a minimum of 5 hours up-front.
We also offer significant discounts for pre-paid packages. For every 5 hours that you pay for in advance, you will receive 5% off the total cost of tutoring, all the way up to 25 hours at a 25% discount.

Everyone knows that education is the best investment, especially in a tough economy. However, despite what other tutoring companies will try to tell you, you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for excellent tutors. You can search around as much as you like, but we can promise that you will not find another company that offers such a wide selection of talented and experienced tutors at such reasonable and affordable prices.
Our lesson rates vary based upon the student ratings, referrals, qualifications, academic degrees, and teaching experience of each tutor, which is why we offer such a wide range of tutoring packages.
Although the hourly rates for our most experienced tutors may seem high, they compare favorably with other tutors of equal experience and qualifications. At many other tutoring companies, highly-rated tutors with 10 years of experience can cost as much as $400/hr. We also pride ourselves on being efficient and achieving maximum results from our students in the minimum amount of time necessary. Finally, the cost should be measured against the importance of high achievement in today's competitive academic environment.
Please remember that we offer qualified and talented tutors at nearly every price range, and that extra price is not necessarily worth the cost. 99th percentile tutors are nice, but if you are in the 50th percentile and shooting for 75th, for example, then it's probably more important for you to find a tutor who is a good communicator than it is to find a certified genius with decades of experience. Some students would certainly benefit from the services of a Master Tutor or above (especially those students who are striving for standardized test scores in the 95th-99th percentiles), but in many other instances, a more affordable tutor will do just fine. For example, our Junior Tutors cost as little as $25/hr, and our Senior Tutors start as low as $35/hr.
We can afford to keep our prices low because are a very efficient, well-run company, with reasonable overhead (mostly related to our San Diego headquarters, website maintenance costs, advertising expenses, and 3-person office staff). And our state-of-the-art Tutor Search and Messaging System saves you valuable time by allowing you to find the expert tutors who are closest to you, and to contact them instantly via email.
Our low prices stand in sharp contrast to the inflated prices of the bloated and overstretched national tutoring corporations with million-dollar advertising budgets and multi-million overhead (Ivy West, Princeton Review, Kaplan, Eureka, Powerscore, etc.). You can tell these types of companies by the dozens of stock photographs of generic smiling students that they plaster on their websites. These big companies always claim to have "the best" tutors, but if that is true, then why won't they disclose the full names, qualifications and experience levels of all their tutors, or allow their clients to personally select their own tutors and/or contact those tutors directly?
The naked truth that the big tutoring companies don't want you to know is this: these companies usually charge a 500-600 percent markup compared to what they actually pay their tutors, and as a result, they offer less experienced tutors & suffer from extremely high tutor turnover rates. On average, they channel 85% of their fees directly to the pockets of their corporate executives, and leave a paltry 15% for the hard-working tutors who are doing all the teaching. It's no wonder then, that even their most successful tutors tend to quit after only a few months on the job.

Money-Back Guarantee: If you are not happy with your tutor after your first lesson, then we will be happy to provide you with a full refund and/or find you a new tutor.
Cancellation / Refund Policy: Any lesson may be canceled, so long as the student/parent provides the tutor with at least 24 hours notice (phone or email is acceptable). If the student/parent does not cancel within 24 hours, then he/she will be billed for the full price of the lesson.
*25% First-Hour Discount: In order to redeem, please call our office and mention this "first-hour discount" to a member of our staff. This offer does not apply to lessons purchased online; nor does it apply to lessons with Brian McElroy or Junior Tutors with flat rates of $35/hr or below.
**Refunds for Unused Tutoring Hours: Any unused hours on pre-paid packages will be refunded. Total refund due to client will be calculated at the standard "pay as you go" hourly rate. For example, if a client purchases the 15-hour "Master Tutor Level 1" package at $63/hr but only uses 10 hours of tutoring, then he/she will be refunded $195. ($75 x 10 = $750, $945 - $750 = $195) College Consulting packages are not refundable, but the remaining hours may be transferred to another consultant.
